Modern pianos and grand pianos

Modern pianos from the period of 1945 to the present ...

... are most commonly built in the modern straight form that has little changed so far. Only the proportion of industrial manufacturing is advancing, and thus the relocation of the production sites to Eastern Europe and Asia. Of course there are also technical innovations found in this period, but less than during the golden age of the pianos and rather in the top range of instruments. Pianos from this period can therefore be called modern.

Many manufacturers have not survived the challenges associated with industrial manufacturing, very low-cost imported instruments, receding markets in Europe and changing generations, so that many famous brands ceased to produce. Often, the brand names crop up again - but a completely different instrument may hide behind them sometimes, so that brand names do not necessarily correspond to renown quality any more.

We focus on instruments from the golden age, that's why you will find rather few instruments here...

Blüthner Aliquot grand piano mod. 4

This Blüthner grand piano (Mod. 4) has an amazing sound - once being restored it will meet professional requirements. Even in the current non-restored condition it plays and sounds pretty good.

This is one of the very rare Blüthner pianos of that age. However it is one of these small modern pianos - it has an amazingly rich tone and plays very well. We have given this piano a modern upright new design. It looks beautifully.

This is another one of the very rare Blüthner pianos of that age. These Blüthner pianos are much better than most other pianos of this size. We expect this piano to be back from the workshop soon, as we have decided to give it a new black modern upright design.

This Yamaha piano has a walnut body. It is in a very good condition and can be played pretty well. A perfect piano to start with.

Euterpe grand piano

Euterpe had built very nice pianos. This is a short grand piano - with an impressive quality of tone and touch. A perfect small grand piano to those not having enough space for a larger grand piano.

Schimmel grand piano

Schimmel still is one of the most popular piano brands in Germany. This 174T model is a very good grand piano. It has been recently serviced. The case got a new ployester finish.
